Fruit Pie

Hello,

I haven’t uploaded a blogpost in a while. One of the reason is that I have found a job in a restaurant. I work there around 3 times a week. I don’t cook on the nights that I have to work. Another reason is that it has been very warm where I live. I have BBQ’ed a lot the last couple of weeks. In the time that I didn’t upload I found out that I passed all my exams. I even made no mistakes on one of the exams.

My family came to my house on a Sunday to celebrate that I graduated. We needed a lot of pie so I made a fruit pie (with strawberry, blue berry and raspberry).

I now have a lot of time. It isn’t as warm anymore. I have made a few recipes in the time that I was “away”. This is my recipe for fruit pie.

The ingredients:
4 eggs
150 gram sugar
8 gram vanilla sugar
120 gram melted butter
140 gram flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
strawberries, blue berries and raspberries

Spring form tin (24 cm)

Preheat the oven until 180 degrees. Split the egg. Put the yolk and egg-white in separate bowls. Beat the egg whites until it is almost stiff. Add the sugar and vanilla sugar while stirring.

Add the yolks (one by one) and the melted butter to the mixture.

Add the flower and the baking powder in a separate bowl and mix it together. Add this mixture to the other mixture with a wooden spoon.

The mixture is finished now. Pour the mixture into the spring form tin.

Wash the fruits. Pat dry the fruits. Add half a tablespoon of flour to the fruit. This prevents the fruit from sinking to the bottom.

Put the fruit on top of the mixture (that you poured into the spring form tin).

Put the spring form tin in the oven for around 50 minutes. In the end it will look like this:

Chicken with green beans

Hello,

A few days ago I made chicken with green beans. You can serve this dish with potatoes or just eat it without anything.

The ingredients:

2 Chicken Breast
200 gram Green Beans
Bacon Bits
Salt
Pepper

Cut the chicken breast into cubes and season them with salt and a bit of pepper.

Heat up a pan with water until it is boiling. Boil the green beans for around 5 minutes (don’t forget to season them with salt).

Cook the chicken in a frying pan. While the chicken is cooking the green beans will be ready.

Put the green beans in the frying pan with the chicken. Stir them around to 3 minutes.

Add the bacon bits to the beans and chicken. Stir everything around for 5 more minutes. The bacon bits will make the beans salty.

Tanya’s cookies

Hello,

I saw these cookies being made in a lot of videos. They look delicious and I want to see if I can bake them too. The recipe for the cookies comes from Tanya Burr. She is a vlogger on youtube. She grew up in Norwich. She started Youtube in 2009. A lot of other vloggers have also made these cookies.

The ingredients:

200g butter
300g caster sugar
1 Large egg (or two smaller ones)
275g self-raising flour
75g cocoa powder
a little dash of milk
a bar of milk chocolate
a bar of white chocolate

You can use every kind of chocolate but I don’t really like dark chocolate. As you probably can tell from the ingredients these cookies are chocolate cookies. I absolutely love chocolate cookies.

Heat up you oven to 200 degrees Celsius. That is what Tanya’s recipe says but my oven gets too hot too quickly so I put my oven on 190 degrees Celsius.

Cream together you butter and sugar.

Crack in your egg.

Stir in the self-raising flour and the cocoa powder.

Add a sash of milk if your mixture is looking dry. mine looked a bit dry. After I did all of this my mixture looked like this:

Break up all of your chocolate and throw it in. You can use your hand to put the chocolate in. I first put the chocolate in with a spoon and when I was making the cookies dough balls I made sure that in every ball was a least one piece of chocolate.

Line 2 trays with baking paper. The cookies will spread in the oven so don’t place them close together.

Pick up a 10 small handfuls of cookies dough and place them onto your trays. DSC00032

Pop them into the oven for 11 minutes. When you get them out they will not look cooked. This is important to know because it very tempting to leave them in for longer and them they’ll be hard and overcooked once they are cool. Just take your cookies out after 11 minutes and leave them to cool for about 30 minutes.

My cookies turned out great. I am very happy that it work because I had a history of leaving my cookies too long in the oven and then they would be overcooked once they were cooled down.

I loved to make and eat these cookies. You can keep them for two days after that the cookies become a bit dry. The cookies are tastiest the day you made them. The chocolate will still be melted.
